‘Chanting is an ancient meditative practice in all of the great spiritual traditions of the world.  To chant is to shift our focus from the surface of life towards it's centre.'

Your 'voice of power' is a means by which your energetic intent can be heard in the world. It comes from an inner strength - both physical and emotional - and enables you to put meaning and life-force into your words. As a spiritual tool, it is like an energy barometer, both uplifting or deeply calming - according to the chant that you are singing.

From a place of self-awareness, we can PROJECT our energy and intent. It is simply a question of connecting through your 'Soul Space' to the words of the chant, whatever language it is.  Of course, the ancient indigineous chants carry much more power as they have been sung and shared for millenia.  Jana uses both original 'energy chants' in English as well as powerful ceremonial Native American chants which she has been practising for 25 years as part of her spiritual path. She shares a wealth of chants, songs, affirmations and mantras in her workshops and classes and her chants are used all over the world in ceremonial gatherings. Her CDs are available on the PRODUCTS page.

Jana teaches in the UK, Sweden, Spain, Hungary, Netherlands and the USA.  If you would like to book her for a private group - either visiting the famous town of Glastonbury in the UK, or in your own community, please do not hesitate to contact her!

Mantras are Sanskrit words, sounds or phrases which are repeated in meditation as an object of concentration. The vibrational quality of the mantra sound currents are thought to help attune the mind and body leaving one feeling refreshed, cleansed and purified.

A mantra is a powerful sound formula that works directly with the chakras to process energy in a very specific way. The word "mantra" is derived from two Sanskrit words. The first is "manas" or “mind,” which provides the "man" syllable. The second syllable is drawn from the Sanskrit word "trai," meaning to "protect" or "free from." So the word mantra in its most literal sense means "to free from the mind."

As you chant Sanskrit mantras, the spiritual meaning of the words is a vital component in the power that you experience.  It is, quite simply, 'authenticity'.  Being yourself, your 'true self' - as Deepak Chopra says “my desires are fulfilled from my true self”.

Mantras can be chanted out loud or internally. They have been used throughout the centuries and it is believed that the sacred power of words and the accompanying sounds in mantra aid in spiritual progression (transcending into higher states of consciousness) and to effect healing in the physical and energetic bodies.
